Tommy Hilfiger’s Miami Beach house has been listed for $27.5 million. Would you buy his eccentric home?
Tommy’s vibrant house is located on Ocean Boulevard in Golden Beach and has 14,075 square feet.
Mr. Hilfiger bought the roughly 14,000-square-foot house in 2013 for $17.25 million, according to public records, then renovated it with bright colors and patterns.
“We wanted it to be really unusual,” said Mr. Hilfiger, 65, who added he and his wife, Dee Ocleppo, worked with designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
The mansion comes with the ocean as your backyard which will surely become your favorite place to be.
The interior is designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard and features 100 feet of water frontage.
“I told Martyn, ‘If it’s not shagadelic or groovy, it’s not coming into the house,’” Tommy’s wife Dee recounts, describing her criteria for furniture and finishes.
“Our Connecticut home feels very country, with lots of taxidermy, and our place in Mustique has a more British Colonial vibe. We wanted to be able to showcase the colorful large-scale artworks that didn’t make sense elsewhere, conceptually or size-wise,” Dee explains.
If you want to buy the house you’ll get to live in one of the seven bedrooms with 12 bathrooms, and enjoy an oceanfront infinity pool engulfed by palm trees and of course, a private beach.
Among other amazing features, this house also has a black marble staircase, a hair-on-hide carpet in the living room, scratch-and-sniff fruit wallpaper on the walls of several guest bathrooms, and a Hilfiger-branded office.
According to The Jills the home is “a unique, spectacular find, designed to be glamorous, sexy home where they could showcase their amazing collection of artwork, as well as incorporate a ‘groovy’ colorful ’60-70s feel.”
“Designed with vibrant colors and a Studio 54 style, the estate is a beachfront gem in exclusive Golden Beach,” added Jill Eber. “Having sold this home to the Hilfigers four years ago, we are elated to once again showcase it to prospective buyers.”
As one of the most expensive homes in Golden Beach, this house is selling for $27.5 million, which is a reduced price.
“We’re here for the weather, the Latin flavor, the art, and the palm trees. Most of all we’re here for the fun,” says Tommy.
Well then? Would you want to live in this eccentric house?
